Select where on the legend you want your bar style to be shown, then click Insert Row, in my case I have inserted a row called Planning as those are the tasks whose bars I have changed to a different colour. The Format Bar Styles dialog box will be displayed. To change the legend to also show the colour scheme, on the Gantt Chart Tools Format tab, click the Format dropdown and this time click Bar Styles. The bars for the selected tasks will change to that colour, On the Bar Shape tab, in the Middle section, from the Color drop-down, select the appropriate colour as required, then click OK.
